Job Description

Job Purpose

The MEAL Assistant supports Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) activities for WFP SSER and related projects. This role assists M&E Officers, reporting to Zonal MEAL Coordinators, to ensure accountability by managing feedback systems, conducting field monitoring, and supporting data collection, analysis, and reporting. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate project performance data, conducting post-distribution monitoring, supporting capacity building, and ensuring adherence to safeguarding policies.

Major Responsibilities
Accountability
  • Assist the Humanitarian Accountability Coordinator (HAC) in CRM setup and conducting awareness sessions.
  • Enter complaints and feedback collected into the accountability tool and report on AAP implementation.
Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Support M&E officers in field visits for project monitoring and data collection.
  • Assist with post-distribution monitoring (PDM) and cross-verification assessments, including data collection and supervision.
  • Develop Kobo forms for data collection and train enumerators on data collection tools.
Learning & Knowledge Sharing
  • Track project indicators monthly and support reporting on indicator achievements.
  • Assist in sharing lessons learned to inform program improvements and maintain organized project data.
Reporting
  • Draft monitoring reports and conduct monthly data quality assessments.
  • Facilitate communication between project teams and MEAL, and manage payments for data collectors.
Capacity Building
  • Assist in training field staff on data collection tools and MEAL processes.
  • Adhere to WV’s Child and Adult Safeguarding policy and accountability standards.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Responsibilities

Required Education, Training, and Certification

Bachelor’s degree in fields such as evaluation, demography, business studies, statistics, social science, management, or computer science.

Required Professional Experience
  • 1–2 years of experience in data collection, assessments, and M&E tools.
  • Proven ability to train and work with diverse beneficiaries, including children, women, elderly, and individuals with disabilities.
  • Experience in data processing, analysis, participatory assessments, and training of data collectors.
  • Supervisory experience guiding data collectors during assessments and troubleshooting.
  • Strong skills in analysis, report writing, and information dissemination.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
  • Basic proficiency in English and experience with digital data tools like Kobo Collect, LMMS, and ODK.
