Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Primary duties include:

  • Oversee logistics functions and establish controls to ensure NAC’s operational compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Head and senior management to develop locally adapted Procurement & Supply SOPs in alignment with NAC policies.
  • Lead and support logistics staff development, including teams in field offices, ensuring timely performance evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate records to meet the needs of country management, headquarters, and donors.
  • Coordinate closely with finance to align documents with NAC standards, preventing duplication.
  • Manage and document the movement of supplies within Afghanistan.
  • Oversee fleet maintenance and ensure vehicles are in optimal working condition.
  • Manage efficient systems for vehicle repairs and maintenance in line with NAC standards.
  • Plan and coordinate all program transport needs effectively.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate stocks of essential spare parts based on operational demand.
  • Organize a comprehensive filing system, including maintenance and performance records.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to drivers as needed to enhance their skills.
  • Coordinate logistics support for all new and existing operations.
  • Develop, monitor, and forecast logistics support plans, addressing supply priorities and urgent requirements.
  • Contribute to policy and procedure development for effective field logistics support.
  • Ensure logistics strategies consider gender-specific requirements.
  • Advise senior management on optimal logistics structure and staffing levels to meet organizational needs.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Responsibilities

Language Proficiency

Proficiency in spoken and written Pashto, Dari, and English is highly beneficial.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a relevant field.

Professional Experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics or procurement, ideally within international NGOs.

Core Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills in planning and reporting.
