Job Description

  1. Coordinate and conduct rapid needs assessments in the field using Kobo Tools and other approved tools.
  2. Establish a Beneficiary Selection Committee (BSC) with representation from community leaders (Shura), district authorities, Department of Refugees and Returnees (DoRR), humanitarian partners, DELO staff, and vulnerable groups, including women and people with disabilities, within the target locations.
  3. Carry out household surveys and assessments to identify and select beneficiaries based on predefined criteria.
  4. Collect data on the needs of the target areas for further planning and response.
  5. Support the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team by gathering data for analysis and reporting.
  6. Ensure data consistency across the beneficiary database, Kobo system, and tokens, managing data entry and maintaining accurate records.
  7. Coordinate effectively with relevant government departments, key stakeholders, community members, beneficiaries, and local authorities.
  8. Engage community representatives throughout the assessment and implementation stages of the project.
  9. Conduct baseline surveys within the community, and develop and implement a community mobilization plan.
  10. Provide survey findings and reports to the main office for data analysis and future planning.
  11. Regularly monitor community kitchens, collect data, and verify beneficiaries and food distribution in 12 communities within the Shahrishtan district of Daikundi province.
  12. Maintain up-to-date records and documentation, filing, and reporting to the immediate supervisor as required.
  13. Plan and conduct community awareness activities, needs assessment surveys, and beneficiary screening and selection for project activities, technical training, and inputs.
  14. Prepare weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly reports and submit them to the Project Manager.

Responsibilities

  1. Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, law, livelihood studies, or a related administrative field.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in fieldwork, community mobilization, and conducting assessments with local communities.
  3. Proficiency in data collection and management using the Kobo Toolbox.
  4. Strong communication skills in English, Dari, and Pashto, along with basic computer skills.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  6. Capable of producing basic reports as required.
  7. Solid understanding of MS Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  8. Willingness to travel to remote and hard-to-access project sites.
  9. Familiarity with local languages.
  10. Understanding of local customs and traditions.
  11. Preference given to residents of the Shahristan district.
