- Coordinate and conduct rapid needs assessments at the field level using standardized Kobo Tools and other approved tools.
- Establish a Beneficiary Selection Committee (BSC) that includes community representatives (Shura), district authorities, DoRR, humanitarian partners, DELO staff, and representatives from vulnerable groups (such as women and people with disabilities) in the target areas.
- Conduct household surveys and assessments, identifying and selecting beneficiaries based on pre-defined criteria.
- Collect data and information to assess the needs of target areas.
- Support the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) team by collecting data for further analysis and reporting.
- Ensure accurate data entry and consistency across the beneficiary database, Kobo system, and tokens.
- Coordinate with relevant government departments, key stakeholders, communities, beneficiaries, and local authorities effectively.
- Engage community representatives throughout the assessment and project implementation process.
- Conduct baseline surveys and develop a community mobilization plan.
- Submit survey findings and reports to the main office for data analysis and future planning.
- Monitor community kitchens, verify beneficiaries, and oversee food distribution in 12 communities within the Shahrishtan district of Daikundi province.
- Maintain accurate documentation and update records, reporting to the immediate supervisor as required.
- Plan and implement community awareness activities, needs assessment surveys, beneficiary screenings, and selections for project activities, technical training, and inputs.
- Prepare and submit weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly reports to the Project Manager.
Responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, law, livelihood studies, or a related administrative field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in field implementation, community mobilization, and conducting assessments.
- Proficient in data collection and management using the Kobo Toolbox.
- Strong communication skills in English, Dari, and Pashto, along with basic computer skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Ability to produce basic reports.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
- Willingness to travel to remote and hard-to-reach project sites.
- Familiarity with local languages.
- Understanding of local customs and traditions.
- Preference given to residents of the Shahristan district.
