Job Description

  1. Coordinate and conduct rapid needs assessments at the field level using standard Kobo Tools and other approved resources.
  2. Form a Beneficiary Selection Committee (BSC) that includes community representatives (Shura), district authorities, DoRR, humanitarian partners, DELO staff, and vulnerable groups such as women and people with disabilities in target locations.
  3. Execute household surveys and assessments to identify and select beneficiaries based on predefined criteria.
  4. Gather data and information regarding the needs of target areas.
  5. Support the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) team by collecting data for further analysis and reporting.
  6. Maintain accurate data entry in the beneficiary database, ensuring alignment between Kobo and token systems.
  7. Coordinate effectively with relevant government departments, key stakeholders, target communities, beneficiaries, and local authorities.
  8. Engage community representatives throughout the assessment and implementation phases.
  9. Conduct baseline community surveys and develop a community mobilization plan.
  10. Submit survey findings and reports to the main office for analysis and future planning.
  11. Visit and monitor community kitchens, verify beneficiaries, and oversee food distribution in 12 communities in the Shahrishtan district of Daikundi province.
  12. Keep data updated, maintain proper documentation, and report to the immediate supervisor on a timely basis.
  13. Plan and implement community awareness activities, needs assessment surveys, and beneficiary screening and selection for project activities and technical training.
  14. Prepare and submit weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly reports to the Project Manager.

Responsibilities

  1. Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, law, livelihood studies, or a related administrative field.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in field implementation, community mobilization, and conducting assessments.
  3. Proficiency in data collection and management using the Kobo Toolbox.
  4. Strong communication skills in English, Dari, and Pashto, along with basic computer skills.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  6. Ability to produce basic reports.
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
  8. Willingness to travel to remote and hard-to-reach project sites.
  9. Familiarity with local languages.
  10. Understanding of local traditions and customs.
  11. Preference given to residents of the Shahristan district.
