- Coordinate and conduct rapid needs assessments at the field level using standard Kobo Tools and other approved resources.
- Form a Beneficiary Selection Committee (BSC) that includes community representatives (Shura), district authorities, DoRR, humanitarian partners, DELO staff, and vulnerable groups such as women and people with disabilities in target locations.
- Execute household surveys and assessments to identify and select beneficiaries based on predefined criteria.
- Gather data and information regarding the needs of target areas.
- Support the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) team by collecting data for further analysis and reporting.
- Maintain accurate data entry in the beneficiary database, ensuring alignment between Kobo and token systems.
- Coordinate effectively with relevant government departments, key stakeholders, target communities, beneficiaries, and local authorities.
- Engage community representatives throughout the assessment and implementation phases.
- Conduct baseline community surveys and develop a community mobilization plan.
- Submit survey findings and reports to the main office for analysis and future planning.
- Visit and monitor community kitchens, verify beneficiaries, and oversee food distribution in 12 communities in the Shahrishtan district of Daikundi province.
- Keep data updated, maintain proper documentation, and report to the immediate supervisor on a timely basis.
- Plan and implement community awareness activities, needs assessment surveys, and beneficiary screening and selection for project activities and technical training.
- Prepare and submit weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly reports to the Project Manager.
Responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, law, livelihood studies, or a related administrative field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in field implementation, community mobilization, and conducting assessments.
- Proficiency in data collection and management using the Kobo Toolbox.
- Strong communication skills in English, Dari, and Pashto, along with basic computer skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Ability to produce basic reports.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
- Willingness to travel to remote and hard-to-reach project sites.
- Familiarity with local languages.
- Understanding of local traditions and customs.
- Preference given to residents of the Shahristan district.
