Job Description

Job Purpose:
Responsible for planning, organizing, and assessing activities related to the assigned field and team in accordance with JHPIEGO’s values, policies, and protocols, as well as MLMCC health standards, to ensure the quality and consistency of healthcare services.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Daily cleaning of the health center, including furniture and equipment.
  • Regularly clean MCH rooms (ANC, PNC, and Delivery) as needed, including doors, windows, and glass surfaces.
  • Dispose of waste daily by removing garbage and burning it in designated areas.
  • Monitor the toilets and bathrooms for supplies like toilet paper, brushes, cleaning agents, and soap, and report any issues promptly.
  • Assist midwives with meal preparation, laundry, and other miscellaneous tasks as required.
  • Support midwives with transporting documents or equipment within the health center, especially when helping move patients between rooms in the MCH ward.
  • Operate the water pump as needed to fill the health center’s tank.
  • Ensure all lights are turned off and unattended heaters or AC units are unplugged before leaving the facility.
  • Operate kerosene or electric heaters as needed on a daily basis.
  • Help manage client flow and reduce unnecessary crowding in MCH rooms.
  • Carry out any other tasks assigned by the direct or indirect supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Minimum education requirement: basic schooling.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Fluent in both Pashto and Dari.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and accountability in assigned responsibilities.
  • Capable of working effectively under pressure.
  • Able to communicate professionally with team members.
  • Proficient in written and spoken Pashto and Dari is preferred.
  • Respects cultural and social norms and maintains strict privacy measures.
