- Step in for surgeons during shortages when necessary.
- Conduct daily rounds to support medical doctors (MDs), observe patients, and review cases.
- Hold specialist clinics on a regular basis.
- Consistently monitor patient progress and document updates.
- Respond to emergency cases as needed, with 24-hour availability for on-call duties.
- Perform both routine and emergency surgical procedures.
- Ensure complete daily documentation of patient records and case files.
- Handle discharge, referral, and feedback processes thoroughly for all patients.
- Provide health counseling to patients and their families.
- Maintain coordination with department heads to harmonize patient care management.
- Develop and review policies and procedures to establish best practices in alignment with EPHS guidelines.
- Ensure timely access to necessary support services, particularly when patients require specialist referrals.
- Collaborate with consultants to manage specialized cases and optimize patient care.
- Prepare accurate medical reports, conduct audits, and perform mortality reviews as required.
- Oversee the effective implementation of medical records management activities.
- Train healthcare providers and MDs in specialized medical techniques.
- Manage surgical wards and the Surgical OPD clinic effectively.
- Adhere to environmental health, occupational safety, and infection prevention regulations.
- Participate in night shifts as scheduled.
- Stay vigilant for potential infection prevention opportunities.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Clinical Director.
Responsibilities
Education: Specialist in Surgery.
Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field.
Languages: Fluent in English and local languages.
