Surgeon Specialist

Job Description

  • Step in for surgeons during shortages when necessary.
  • Conduct daily rounds to support medical doctors (MDs), observe patients, and review cases.
  • Hold specialist clinics on a regular basis.
  • Consistently monitor patient progress and document updates.
  • Respond to emergency cases as needed, with 24-hour availability for on-call duties.
  • Perform both routine and emergency surgical procedures.
  • Ensure complete daily documentation of patient records and case files.
  • Handle discharge, referral, and feedback processes thoroughly for all patients.
  • Provide health counseling to patients and their families.
  • Maintain coordination with department heads to harmonize patient care management.
  • Develop and review policies and procedures to establish best practices in alignment with EPHS guidelines.
  • Ensure timely access to necessary support services, particularly when patients require specialist referrals.
  • Collaborate with consultants to manage specialized cases and optimize patient care.
  • Prepare accurate medical reports, conduct audits, and perform mortality reviews as required.
  • Oversee the effective implementation of medical records management activities.
  • Train healthcare providers and MDs in specialized medical techniques.
  • Manage surgical wards and the Surgical OPD clinic effectively.
  • Adhere to environmental health, occupational safety, and infection prevention regulations.
  • Participate in night shifts as scheduled.
  • Stay vigilant for potential infection prevention opportunities.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Clinical Director.

Responsibilities

Education: Specialist in Surgery.

Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field.

Languages: Fluent in English and local languages.
