Female Cleaner for Baby Care-Kandahar

Job Description

Job Purpose:
Responsible for planning, organizing, and evaluating activities within their assigned area and team, in alignment with Jhpiego’s values, policies, protocols, and the standards of the female cluster office, to ensure quality and continuity of care.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Clean the designated unit, office areas (both inside and outside), and furniture and equipment on a daily basis.
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including washing doors, windows, and glass surfaces as needed.
  • Dispose of garbage and waste daily and burn it in designated areas.
  • Monitor the condition of toilets and bathrooms, ensuring supplies such as toilet paper, brushes, cleaning agents, and soap are available, and report any issues immediately.
  • Assist staff with meal preparation and other laundry-related tasks as required.
  • Provide childcare support for staff infants and young children.
  • Operate the water pump to refill the unit’s water tank as necessary.
  • Ensure all lights are turned off and any unattended heaters or AC units are unplugged before leaving the office.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the direct or indirect supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Completed basic schooling.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Fluent in Pashto and Dari.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and accountability in assigned responsibilities.
  • Capable of working effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with staff.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Pashto and Dari is preferred.
  • Adheres to cultural and social norms, with a strong commitment to maintaining privacy.
